Taiwan will step up research of long-term evolution (LTE) mobile technology, which has become more influential among operators around the world, said Chen Yi-ping, chief technology officer of Inventec.

She made the remarks while attending a 4G forum held in Taipei yesterday. The event was held from July 11 to 12. LTE is a 4G technology, a step up from the currently adopted 3G.

During the forum, participants discussed various overarching issues facing operators.
