The new company, HH Travel, was formed by Taiwan-based online travel agency ezTravel, mainland’s biggest online travel agency Ctrip.com, and Hong Kong-based Wing On Travel.

A total of 12.6 tons of premium taros produced in the Dajia district of Taichung in central Taiwan were shipped to Shanghai, said Liu Cheng-wen, the chief executive of the Dajia Farmers Association.

The shipment was part of an order for 20 tons of Dajia taros requested by a pastry business that owns nearly 500 outlets in the mainland, Liu said.

HTC launched three Android phones from its new “One” series at the Barcelona Mobile World Congress on Feb. 26 that the smartphone maker hopes will make it more competitive against rivals Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co.

Taipei climbed four spots from its 2010 ranking in Asia and shot up nine notches from 52nd to 43rd globally, the ECA International survey showed.

It is the first time that Taipei has been listed among the 10 most expensive cities in Asiasince the survey was first conducted in 1996.

With the price adjustment, CPC Corp. is now selling 92-, 95- and 98-grade gasoline at NT$30.6, NT$31.3 and NT$32.8 a liter, respectively, and super diesel at NT$28.7 a liter.

Formosa Petrochemical, CPC's main competitor, is offering its products at the same prices except for 98-grade gasoline, which is offered at NT$32.9 a liter at Formosa gas stations island-wide.

The two commercial banks are allowed to shift NT$1.2 billion ($40 million) and NT$1.55 billion, respectively, for the running of their branches Taipei.

The Bank of China and Bank of Communications respectively established representative offices in September and November 2010.
